The Pinehill and East & North Herts NHS Trust collaboration has allowed Miss Harleen Deol, Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon, to safely continue to perform implant breast reconstructions on all appropriate patients requiring mastectomy.
Due to this successful collaboration, they were the only Breast Surgical team in East of England & London to perform reconstructions during the Covid-19 Pandemic.
There has been no single Covid-19 complication and strict safety protocols in clinic, pre-operatively and intra-operatively have continued at Pinehill Hospital.
Miss Harleen Deol also continues to run the Rapid Diagnosis Breast Clinic throughout the Covid-Pandemic at Pinehill Hospital on a Thursday morning.
