Radiology

The imaging department is staffed by experienced professionals and is equipped with state of the art equipment. We have a mobile MRI Scanner which visits twice a week. Our CT scanner is a state of the art 64 slice scanner.

The range of services on offer includes:

Ultrasound scanning

The following are under a Gynaecologist – referral required:

  • Early pregnancy (6-12 weeks)
  • Nuchal fold (11-14 weeks)
  • Anomaly scan 20-22 weeks)
  • Baby sexing Scan (24 weeks)
  • Aortic Aneurysm
  • Breast
  • Doppler (Vascular)
  • Abdominal
  • Renal
  • Pelvic
  • Muscoskeletal
  • Cardiac (Echo cardiology) (by a Cardiologist)

Digital Fluoroscopy / Contrast studies

  • All Barium studies
  • Hysterosalpingograms
  • Micturating cystograms
  • Arthrograms
  • Intravenous Urograms (IVU)

Mammography

  • Symptomatic (under a breast specialist)
  • Screening (over 40’s)

Plain films

  • Dental - Intra Oral & OPG’s

  • General Xrays

  • Musculo skeletal

CT

All aspects of CT scanning including specialist such as:

  • CT Coronary Angiography
  • CT Virtual Colonography
  • CT Dental
  • CT™ Calcium Scoring
  • CT Muskoskeletal
  • CT Anthrography

MRI

All aspects of MRI including specialist such as:

  • All contrast enhanced studies
  • Breast screening
  • Musculo skeletal
  • MRCP, MRI small bowel
  • Neurology

The department also offers diagnostics for sports and back injuries.

 

For plain films, appointments can be offered as early as the day of referral. For other procedures, depending on the preparation and specialty, an appointment will be offered within the next 2 days. GP’s can now refer via a consultant directly for MRI, CT and Ultrasound.

 

Appointments are normally offered within 3-5 days and reported back to the GP within 5 days.
