Pinehill Awarded 5 Stars!
Following a recent visit by North Hertfordshire District
Councils team of Environmental Health Officers, the kitchen at
Pinehill Hospital has been awarded 5 stars in the national score on
the doors scheme.

North Hertfordshire District Council and the Food Standards
Agency’s Inspections are undertaken by Environmental Health
Officers for the purpose of protecting public health. The
individual scores are translated into a star rating and are posted
on their web site.
The star award is calculated from the sum of the scores given
for food hygiene, structure of the premises and confidence in
management. Businesses awarded 5 starts demonstrate high standards
of compliance with statutory obligations and food safety
management.
This is a fantastic result for Head Chef Louise Mallock and her
team in the catering department. On receipt of the good news Louise
said “we have a great team here and everyone works very well
together. We have high standards both in terms of the quality of
the food and the hygiene”. The catering team has also received
praise from both the management of the hospital and from colleagues
in the clinical departments of the hospital. Paul Tempest,
Pinehill’s General Manager said: “this really is a testament to how
hard the staff work, both the staff in the kitchen and the
waitresses and support staff. I am proud to have them working here
at Pinehill”.
